FilmAmelia’s purpose and mission is to attract the international filmmaking community and its investors to Amelia Island, and to provide them with production resources including local personnel and actors. In addition, FilmAmelia! educates aspiring local filmmakers and actors by presenting workshops in the various filmmaking and television crafts and serves to promote the many resources and talents available on and around Amelia Island and in nearby Nassau and Duval counties.

Filmmaking is a clean industry, provides temporary jobs for locals, benefits the local economy by providing heads-in-beds, as well as cast, staff, and crew patronizing stores, shops, and restaurants. In Addition by educating our youth in the filmmaking crafts, exposing them to film and video production, and affording them the opportunity to become involved as production assistants, actors or Extras, it is hoped that our young people will be inspired to remain this area!
