Members of our Board of Directors volunteer their time and expertise to manage all day-to-day functions of the organization.

Capt. Richard E. & Kathy Norman
Capt. Norman, son of silent filmmaker Richard Norman is an aviation consultant and FAA Aviation Safety Counselor whose career was inspired by his father’s famous film, The Flying Ace.

Devan Stuart, Board Co-Chair, Media & Publicity Director
Devan is a professional copywriter,television/video producer and longtime freelance correspondent for magazines and newspapers including People magazine.

Rita Reagan, Board Co-Chair, Historian, Community & Education Outreach Director
Rita is a retired Duval County educator. Since 1997, she has been a full-time community activist in historic preservation and youth issues, primarily in the Springfield Historic District. She has been deeply involved with the preservation of the Norman Studios since 1995.

Emily Rose, CTL, Corporate Outreach Director
Emily is a marketing professional with extensive experience in marketing, advertising, and non-profit fundraising and marketing.  Her clients have included non-profit organizations, labor organizations, small businesses, and companies from the transportation logistics industry.  She implements marketing programs to promote planned gifts and corporate sponsorships via multimedia campaigns.  She holds a certification in Transportation and Logistics, and a BA in Literature and Public Relations from the University of North Florida.

Erminda Flores, Graphic Design Director
Erminda studies media arts, animation and web design at the Art Institute of Jacksonville and is a classic film enthusiast.

Chris Lesley, Construction & Grounds Director
Chris is an award-winning painter, sculptor and theme park artist whose work has been featured in the U.S. Capitol Building’s Rotunda Hall and the Metropolitan Museum of New York City.

Kim Murray, Film Production Director

Kim is an accomplished filmmaker whose honors include a Telly Award and being a 2012 Producer’s Guild of America’s Debra Hill Film Competition Finalist. She is Director of the St. Augustine International Film Festival and a Past Board President of the Fernandina Little Theatre.

Juana Crespo Frias, Secretary, Treasurer

Juana is co-founder of Stingtown Media, a Jacksonville, FL film production company. She holds a degree in Motion Picture Technology from the University of Central Florida and has a background in international banking

Cher Davis, Social Media Director

Cher is an actress and model represented by Premier Models and Talent in Jacksonville, FL. She also is a graphic designer and production artist assistant with Fanatics, a sports apparel company.

Teri Grim, Research Director

Teri is a published author and poet and a spoken word artist who also teaches in the Master of Fine Arts Creative Writing program at the University of Nebraska. She developed a collection of persona poems in the voice of a fictional silent film star born in Jacksonville, FL, home of the Norman Studios.

Joyce Simpson, University Archive Liason

Joyce is a physician at Memorial Hospital, a dance performer and historic researcher with a focus on the 1910s-1930s time period. She is a graduate of Indiana University and serves as a liason between the Norman Studios and the IU Black Film Center/Archive and Lily Library, caretakers of the Richard E. Norman Collection.

Austin Newman, Orlando Liason

Austin is founder of Orlando, Florida’s Natural Wonders Productions and The Alliance of Silent Filmmakers, a program that ultimately will create silent short films for distribution to theaters nationwide.

Nicholas Clancy
Nicholas is an accomplished artist, fine arts photographer and independent filmmaker.

Derek Hankerson

Derek is the founder of Freedom Road, LLC, an African-American independent film company based in St. Augustine, Florida, and is working with the National Park Service to extend the Gulluah/Geechie Cultural Heritage Corridor to St. Johns County and St. Augustine.

Stacey Cagle

Stacy is a Visual Information Specialist and Graphic Designer with Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She holds a degree in Digital Media from Full Sail University in Orlando and a Certification in Film, Television and Digital Media from the Banner Center for Creative Industries, University of North Florida.
